Assignments
There are several steps need to be done complement all the tasks related to assignments. Detailed steps list as follows:
Create Assignment Create an Assignment
Instructors can create an assignment for students by adding an assignment item in the course content page. When an assignment is created, a Grade Center column will be created for each student in association with this assignment.

Click on the Create Assessment button > Assignment

Set up name (required) and information for this Assignment

Attach assignment files. Multiple files can be attached in one assignment

Set up Points Possible, Availability, Due Dates and Recipients for this assignment.

Points Possible: points for this assignment.

Availability: when the assignment to be displayed to stduents.

Due Date: Time slot allow students to submit their assignments throw the link.

Submit. The assignment will be deployed in the content area

A Grade Center column will be created in association with the assignment.
Submit Assignment (Student) Students Submit Assignments
After instructors create the assignemnt link, and the students finish the assignment, students can submit the assignment through the link provided in the Blackboard 9. The submitted assignment will be associate with grade center coloumns.

Navigate to an Assignment
To navigate to an Assignment, students may either click on "Course Documents" or any shortcuts on the navigation bar to the Assignment section. In the example below, students may click on the "Assignments & Tests" link on the navigation bar. -
Select the assignment you would like to complete

Read the instructions and download documents (if any)
The instructions and assignment files are displayed in the "Assignment Information" portion of the assignment.
Click on the Assignment files link to download the assignment files. -
While working on the Assignment, you can "Save" your work in progress
[NOTE] Your instructor will not be able to see your work until you click "Submit".
Click on the "Save as Draft" button on the top right of the page to save your work while still completing it. -
Submit Assignment
Once you have completed the assignment, enter comments to the instructor if desired, attach a file if necessary, and click "Submit". Your instructor will now be able to view your completed assignment.
After students submit their assignments, instructors/teaching assistants will evaluate the assignment then give grades. In Blackboard 9, each assignment could be submitted either single or multiple attempts. Grades will be assigned by each attempt. No matter how many attempts enabled for an assignment, the grade of the latest attempt will be the default grade for that particular assignment.

Navigate to Assignment that needs grading
After students submit their assignments, the relevant column in Grade Center will show an
icon, stands for "Needs Grading" for this assignment. -
Open the assignment details
In the drop down menu, click on View Grade Details to view students' submission and attempts. -
View specific attempt
In the Attempts section, choose the attempt (if multiple attempts are allowed) to open. Click on "Open Attempt" button and then specific attempt page will be opened. -
Assign Grades
Navigate to "Review Current Attempt" section to view student's file. In the "Grade Current Attempt" section,
assign grade and comments, or attach files when required. -
Override Grades
This page allows you to override a current grade, if an instructor has already graded this student.
Instructors can do this by clicking the "Override" button and entering a new grade, optionally feedback and notes.
Instructors can grade an assignment offline. In order to grade assignments offline, the instructor must Download the Grade Sheet into an Excel file.
The instructor needs to download the assignments from Blackboard to his/her local drive. After modifyint the Grade Sheet in Excel, the insutructor needs to
Upload the Grade Sheet back to the Blackboard to save the results and comments.

Download the Grade Sheet into an Excel file

Go to Grade Center. In Grade Center, navigating to the Download option.
Within Grade Center page, click on Work Offline button at upper right corner of the page. Select and click on "Download" option -

In "Download Grades" page, select the data to download and set up the download options.

After clicking on the Submit button, the request data will be saved into a file for downloading. Click on the download button to save the file locally.

Download Students' Assignment Submissions

Go to Grade Center. In Grade Center, navigating to the column of the Assigment.
Right click on the downward button, then select the Assignment File Download -
Select the files you want to download
In the Download Assignment page, select checkboxes that you want to download the file, then click on Submit. -
Download the packaged Files.
Selected files will be packaged in a zip file. Click on the link shown to download the zip file to your local computer.

Upload the Excel Spreadsheet back to Grade Center
To upload grades from external sources into the Grade Center, the external file must be formatted to synch external data to the Grade Center data.-
Navigate to Upload option
Within Grade Center page, click on Work Offline button at upper right corner of the page. Select and click on "Upload" option -
Select the file to upload
In "Upload Grades" page, select the file to upload and identify the delimiter type. Submit the request. -
Confirm upload information
Blackboard will preprocess your file and check that its file format, column names, etc. are synced. Detailed information will be shown on the page. Confirm the format, select uploading columns and click to submit request. -
Check data is uploaded correctly
Upload message will be shown on top status bar.
Be sure to go through grading sheet to check grades and other data are uploaded correctly.
