Honor a Valued Colleague
Take the time to nominate a person you know who embodies the spirit of teamwork and dedication. It's one of the best ways to recognize excellence and thank the people you value most. All you have to do is complete the nomination form (you must complete a separate form for each nominee in each category).: http://www.qatar.cmu.edu/nomination-form
Then request two other individuals to provide a statement of support to endorse your nomination.: http://www.qatar.cmu.edu/statement-of-support
All fields in the forms are required in order to process this nomination. Each nomination form must be accompanied by two statements of support. (Please do not submit more than two statements of support or one nomination form for each nominee.)
Human Resources will confirm receipt of nominations. If you submit a nomination and are not contacted by March 4, 2013, please contact Renee Barcelona 4-8513 or email@example.com to verify that your nomination has been received.
Awards are open to all non-faculty university employees: staff in academic, research and administrative units, staff in management and non-management positions, full or part-time, exempt or non-exempt.
The Review Committee reserves the right to re-assign the review category for the submitted nomination based upon the content of the nomination.
All nominations and statements of support must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. on February 28, 2013. Complete the online forms from this web site or email the forms to Renee Barcelona firstname.lastname@example.org following all directions and completing all fields.
Honor the people who have done their very best for the university. Here are some tips that the award review committee has identified to help you prepare your nomination in conformance with the entry guidelines and award criteria.
- Be sure to address the ideas in the category description
- Try to use specific examples to show how your nominee exhibits these characteristics.
- Remember, the reviewers are relying on your words and examples to appreciate the strength of your nominee's contributions. Generally, they do not know the individual or team except through your nomination. Speak from the heart.
- Submit only two letters of support. Additional letters make the nomination more difficult to process. Instead, gather feedback from interested individuals, and ensure that their comments are incorporated in the letters of support.
