Why Carnegie Mellon?

Carnegie Mellon University is consistently recognized as one of the premier research universities in the world and has produced some of the most distinguished and innovative leaders in the last century.

We're about creating students who can view life through a wide variety of lenses and who leave here prepared to make an important and lasting impact on society. Our unique ability to provide undergraduates with exposure to a broad spectrum of academic disciplines beyond their field of study is the reason employers around the globe seek our graduates.

A Century of Excellence

Carnegie Mellon University was founded in 1900 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, U.S.A. by industrialist and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie. Guided by our founder’s motto, “my heart is in the work,” Carnegie Mellon has focused on finding real solutions to the problems facing society. In 2004, at the invitation of Qatar Foundation, Carnegie Mellon joined Education City. As a student here, you will harness research and discovery, innovation, and creative thinking to become not only a leader in your field, but also to serve our larger global community.

Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar is a fully accredited undergraduate campus of Carnegie Mellon University. Our admission process, curriculum, faculty, tuition, fees and, of course, our bachelor’s degrees, are identical to what we offer on our Pittsburgh campus.
