The Office of International Education will liaise with the appropriate Qatar Foundation departments to process certain student requests. See below for procedures, documents and time lines.

Exit Permits
POLICY UPDATE, January 2011: Exit permit requests will only be processed by the Office of International Education on Sundays and Mondays. Plan ahead and make the request early. (You can still drop off the completed forms on other days of the week!)
Procedure:
- Fill out the Exit Permit Request Form [doc]
- Print and sign the form
- Take the form to the QF Finance office (Porta Cabin 4) gain the necessary signature
- Bring form to the Office of International Education, who will submit the request on the student's behalf
Helpful Information:
- Qatar Foundation Finance Review for Approval: 2–3 days
- You must go back to QF Finance and pick up your signed form. They will not deliver it to CMUQ Office of International Education.
- If you leave an exit permit request under one of our office door's, you must send a follow-up email to ensure that we received the form.
- Until you receive a PDF of your exit permit from the Office of International Education, you do not have a valid exit permit. Make sure you have this before going to the airport!
Once QF Government Affairs processes your exit permit, it is valid for 7 days, inclusive of the day it was processed.
RP (Residence Permit) Renewals
If your RP is close to expiring, you must submit a request for renewal at least ten business days before the date of expiry. If you submit a request too late, you risk not receiving your new RP in time and/or incurring a fine. Plan ahead and make the request early!
Procedure:
- Bring your passport and Qatar ID to the Office of International Education
Timeline:
- Approximately 5-7 business days
Obtaining a Qatar Driving License
Procedure:
- Visit www.moi.gov.qa and print the Driving License Application Form
- Print and sign the top section of the form
- Attach a colored photograph of yourself (4.8 x 3.8cm, non-white background)
- Take your application to a licensed eye exam center and submit to an examination
- Bring form to the Office of International Education; OIE will then request a no-objection letter from Qatar Foundation
Education City Housing
- New students should simply complete the New Student Form, and the Office of International Education will follow up with you about the application process.
- Current students: To request housing, please complete the CMUQ Housing Request Form.
- Housing is assigned on a first-come, first-served basis to students who live more than 20 km from Education City.
- When it has been confirmed that you are fully compliant with health and wellness requirements, the Office of International Education staff will forward your housing request to QF Housing & Residence Life and they will contact you with application information.
- Students who live within 20 km of Education City are not guaranteed housing on campus, but a petition can be made. In order to petition, follow the steps below.
- Students must complete the CMUQ Housing Request Form AND complete the QF request form. This form must be emailed to housing@qf.org.qa.
- Students will be notified after August 1, 2011, if they have been granted housing for the semester.
