International Education

The Office of International Education promotes and facilitates study abroad and campus exchanges, and acts as a liaison to the university for international students. The office aims to provide all students with an international perspective and global awareness by developing international educational programs and activities.

General

  • Advise international students regarding social and acculturation issues
  • Support and advise international and cultural groups
  • Mentor and maintain regular contact with students in assigned Diwani group
  • Collaborate with other offices, departments, and branch campuses to organize student programs that incorporate a cultural and/or international perspective (see below for listing)

Study Abroad and Exchange Programs

  • Advise students who wish to study abroad regarding programs and options
  • Organize orientation programs for students who study abroad
  • Plan workshops on cultural adjustment, reentry issues, and other related topics
  • Liaise with the Office of International Education in Pittsburgh to facilitate study abroad and campus exchange programs

Immigration

  • Advise international students regarding immigration/visa procedures
  • Liaise with the Qatar Foundation to process residency permit and exit visa requests for QF-sponsored international students
  • Inform international students about changes in immigration regulations and about upcoming events
