Education City is a 2,500-acre multiversity on the outskirts of Doha, Qatar. In addition to Carnegie Mellon, Education City is home to branch campuses of prestigious universities including Northwestern University, Weill Cornell Medical College, Georgetown School of Foreign Services, Virginia Commonwealth University and Texas A&M University.
If you plan to drive to Education City, driving directions are as follows:
- From the Corniche, turn at the R/A nearest the Post Office onto Al Markhiya Street. At the stop light turn left and proceed to the Oryx R/A. At the Oryx R/A, turn right onto Khalifa Street.
- Stay on Khalifa Street and go straight through Television R/A (after 2 km) and Burger King R/A (after 3.5 km; Burger King and Al Markhia Petrol station are on the right). Proceed straight under the Al Gharaffa 3-level interchange and then proceed another two km to Sloped R/A, which is slightly sloped and has palm trees in the middle. (Note: Al Khalifa Street changes into Al Luqta Street.)
- Go straight through Sloped R/A and proceed one km to Qatar Foundation R/A. Go straight through QF R/A and proceed two km to the next R/A and make a U-Turn. Education City will be on the left as you are driving between these two R/As.
- After making the U-Turn, follow signs for Gate 2, which will come up on the right after passing Qatar Academy. Follow the Gate 2 road to the security checkpoint.
- Once in Education City, turn right at the upcoming R/A. At the next R/A turn left into the car park. Carnegie Mellon is located between the Weill Cornell Building and the Texas A&M Building. Entrances to Carnegie Mellon Qatar are located on the Education City East/West Walkway.
