The Office of Personal Development and Counseling Services aims to create a supportive and nurturing environment that offers holistic programs which promote the curricular and metacurricular experience of our students. Our programs focus on the areas of personal, spiritual, emotional and interpersonal growth.
Fall Semester programs will include:
- Stress Management Workshops and Reflection Room Activities: Hear about the ways stress can impact college students and learn effective stress management and meditation techniques.
- Doha Community Engagement Program: Students directly initiate and create programs that enhance their community through engagement and raising awareness of a social issue.
- Peer-2-Peer: The first-year of college can be filled with questions about the college experience, academic expectations or how to get involved. In collaboration with the Office of Student Activities and First Year Programs, these sessions are aimed at hearing first-year student concerns and helping find answers!
- Myers Briggs Type Inventory (MBTI): This assessment tool can help you learn more about how you perceive the world and make decisions based on your personality.
- Mental Health Awareness Week: This week focuses on the importance of mental wellness and will include workshops on depression awareness, conflict resolution, self-esteem, anger management and how to recognize the signs of distress.
To learn more about these workshops and programs, ask your Diwani Advisor or visit with the Office of Personal Development & Counseling Services staff.
Spring Semester programs will include: Healthy Relationships Week, Communication Week, Student Success Initiative and the Big Questions Dinner. Future suggestions on activities are welcome!
